We are moving.
That phrase strikes fear into the hearts of many. It used to do so for me...probably 9-10 moves ago. Now it just makes me tired and wish I could teleport forward in time to bypass all the work of it. We are in the midst of mass chaos at our house-boxes randomly stacked (some packed and some just put together waiting to be packed), sharpies on every surface close to the boxes, piles of things to sell, piles of things to donate, trash bags getting fuller and fuller...There is leftover pizza in the fridge and the counters are a mess with items to pack and dishes to wash in order to pack and red solo cups to use in the meantime once glasses are packed. You'd think we're professionals at this with as many times as we've done this. And we are, sort of. This time is different though. This move we're adding a brand new item to the list of packing necessities. The item? Black plastic trash bags. See, this is the 13th or so time we've moved together. It is also the very first time we've moved together across the ocean! So as we sell all our furniture and all our appliances (silly voltage differences!) and a good portion of what we own, we are also packing some things to ship over. We will quite literally ship them over. Thus the need for black plastic trash bags. Thanks to super helpful friends and co-workers we got the scoop on shipping. So we are bagging and boxing and toting and palleting and shipping our (few remaining) possessions! I know, I know, palleting and toting might not be real words. They are words that best described what we're doing though. As I look around at the chaos which is our house at the moment, I feel quite out of sorts. It is also very familiar. Step by step, box by box, we'll get there. In the meantime, don't expect to hear too much from me until we finish packing out our house! I happened to need to sit for a few minutes and thought I'd update y'all on why it's been so quiet around here. Stay tuned for more details-we're quite excited to share
